What Reiki sessions for animals look like
In the first session, a case history is taken to understand the animal's past medical history, and why you would like them to receive Reiki, this can take up to 30 minutes. Following this is approx 30-60 minutes of Reiki to calm their mind, align energy centers within their body, clear old energy that is no longer needed, and start to work on the current complaint.
The session ends when the animal indicates they are done, or when the time is over. We then discuss each other's experiences and advice for moving forward.
Followup sessions are up to 30/60 minutes, with a brief chat at the beginning to catch up since the previous session and establish the focus of the session.
It is common to have approx 5 regular sessions, e.g. once a week, and then assess whether to carry on as such or switch to monthly sessions. This a conversation to be had, to what feels right for both the animal/owner and practitioner.
The length of a session with an animal depends on three things:
1️⃣ The size of the animal
Smaller animals normally take less time than larger.
2️⃣ The issues they are presenting
The more severe the issue, the longer an animal will normally need.
3️⃣ How long the animal wants Reiki for
The length of a session is planned on the points above but is ultimately decided on by the animal. For some sessions they may need a whole hour, for other sessions, they may only need 15 minutes. Payment is made for the length of time planned.
Before the first session, over text/email/video, a case history is taken to understand the animal's past medical history and why you would like them to receive Reiki. Following this at an arranged date and time, ideally over a video call where the animal is in frame, Reiki will be sent to them to calm the mind, align energy centers within the body, clear old energy that is no longer needed, and start to work on the current complaint.
The session ends when they are done with the session, or the time has finished (up to 30 or 60 minutes). We then discuss the session and how you would like to continue with sessions.
