Development of Eco-Friendly Electrodes Recycling Technology using Spent Lithium-ion Batteries (SLIBs)

Role Title: KRF Project Investigator (PI)

It is proposed that the disposal quantity of spent LIBs will be touched over 1.2 million tonnes by 2030 worldwide with only under 5% of spent LIBs recycled to date. As well, the recycling of spent LIBs could provide alternative sources as they contain a lot of rich sources. This leads to examining the recovery of the cathode, anode, and separator from spent LIBs and reusing them again as the next-generation energy materials.
