Hello!
My name is Natalya Newman, an author and game developer based in New Zealand, originally from the UK.
I'm currently studying a Bachelor of Screen Arts at Massey University, majoring in Game Development with a focus on game writing, narrative design, level design, and environmental storytelling.
I am passionate about weaving emotive and engaging stories through a blend of narrative design and environmental storytelling, using my knowledge of game mechanics to seamlessly integrate the different aspects together.
I self-published a fantasy novel in 2023, and have since been working on a medieval fantasy trilogy alongside my Game Development studies.

Unreal Engine
Knowledge of programming, the engine interface, how Unreal Engine works. Familiarity with Unreal Engine dialogue systems and how they function.
Celtx and Google Docs
Celtx, a scriptwriting program I have used both for film and game scripts. Google Docs, used for planning, writing, formatting, and pulling narratives together.
Miro
Miro, a storyboarding and planning tool. Used both for personal projects and planning novels, plus keeping track of collaborative projects at university.
Github
Version control. Familiarity with working in a team of developers and communicating across branches to effectively collaborate.
