Social Studies - Class created together their Team (class) Rules and signed them to show agreement.
Team Work- Students colored their individual piece of a picture then worked as a team together to create the larger picture message about Teamwork.
Social Studies - Holidays around the world. These anchor charts were completed by the class in review of the different Holiday Celebrations from Countries around the World. Students also completed Handbooks with worksheets about each Holiday.
Math - Students are given a three step math question for them to complete on their individual 120 Boards. Once done one student is chosen to come up to the Smart Board and solve the problem. After students complete a worksheet that goes along with concepts they are learning in their math curriculum. PowerPoint was created by me for each lesson.
Writing- MVP : a student is chosen each week to complete a poster all about themselves. The student presents the poster to the class. After the presentation, the class creates a graphic organizer about what the MVP likes, and a Bubble map for adjectives that describe the MVP. Finally, following a template the students use the information they gathered in the graphic organizers to write letters to the MVP. This is part of a first grade standard which deals with composing a letter.
Writing - After reading multiple versions of The Gingerbread Man to the class. Each student was given their own gingerbread man to dress up and decorate. The the student wrote three clues to help the class guess who the gingerbread man is dressed up as. My example to the class was a Grinch gingerbread man. Other popular types were Pirates, Ninjas, and Santa. Students used personal student dictionaries (as shown in the middle picture) to assist them with spelling.
