Pedagogy:
My teaching philosophy is grounded in relational pedagogy, critical thinking, and active engagement. I strive to create classroom environments where students feel both challenged and supported as they engage with complex political questions. Through discussion-based learning, I encourage students to connect course concepts to contemporary issues, evaluate evidence critically, and develop confidence in their own analytical abilities.
As an Indigenous scholar and community leader, I value collaborative learning, mentorship, and creating inclusive spaces where students from diverse backgrounds feel welcomed and supported. My goal is to help students not only understand political institutions and processes, but also develop the skills necessary to become thoughtful and engaged citizens.
Led weekly discussion sections on American political institutions, political behavior, elections, public opinion, representation, and public policy. Facilitated classroom discussions, graded assignments, exams, and supported students in developing analytical, research, and writing skills.
