Deep Learning, Machine Learning, Computer Vision, and Computational Neuroscience
Thank you for visiting my page!
I am a Graduate Research Assistant (PhD) in Computer Science department at the University of Miami, under the supervision of Professor Odelia Schwartz. My primary research focus is Deep Learning, Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) and their applicability to understand the brain visual system, specifically in the middle level areas of the brain. I study the statistical regularities in natural scenes and their processing in the brain from the computational perspective. I am particularly interested in the neural basis of object representation and recognition. Since CNNs have already proven to be a very good model for visual recognition, I am investigating on what factors and computations make them so powerful, to understand their correspondence with the brain.
