Neutron Depth Profiling (NDP) is a nuclear technique that uses neutrons to probe Li-ion batteries to find out the concentration and distribution of lithium ions beneath the surface of electrodes. It can also be applied to other materials containing isotopes or elements with high cross-sections of nuclear reactions involving charged particle emission, such as analyzing the concentration and depth profile of boron-10 (B-10).
