Travelling to Brussels
The closest airport to Brussels, is Brussels Airport (BRU). Please make sure to check the destination code, as Belgium has two airports!
From Brussels Airport, the city centre is easily reachable via train or bus:
The train connects to the three main stops of Brussels centre: Bruxelles-Nord, Bruxelles-Central, Bruxelles-Midi. From all of those train stations, connections with the subway network and Brussels transportation network are available. The trains depart from the airport on a regular basis. The conference location is closest to Bruxelles-Central.
If you are traveling from the airport to your hotel by train, you will need a Diabolo ticket, which you can add to your regular ticket on the vending machines in the airport. These vending machines can be found close to the train platform. You can also buy the ticket online beforehand via the NMBS website. When you click 'buy a ticket', you will be able to choose your itinerary and fare. At the bottom of the 'choose your ticket' page, you will find the 'Diabolo supplement'. Add it to your basket online, in addition to the train ticket. Tickets can be bought up to 1 month beforehand.

A bus line (12) is available, which connects to the European district. From there, connections to the Brussels transportation network are available. The stops closest to the conference location can be found under the header 'Locations'.
You will need a 'GO2CITY 1 JOURNEY' ticket when traveling from the airport to the centre of Brussels via the Brussels transporation network. The fare of this ticket is higher than a reguler ticket (see below). More information about the fare on the STIB website.
