稽古内容

指導方法

　入門当初３カ月程度（個人差あり）は、他の者とは別にマンツーマン指導を行います。ある程度慣れてきたところで、他の者と一緒に稽古を行います。当初は、模擬刀で稽古を行いますが、ある程度上達したら、真剣の使用を許可します。

（勝手に真剣を使用することは厳禁しています。）

　礼儀作法から入り、徐々に、技の指導を行います。懇切丁寧な指導を心掛けていますが、道場での指導は時間が限られます。

上達するためには、道場で指導を受けたことを、道場以外の場所（自宅、通勤途上でのメンタルトレーニング等）で稽古を積み重ね、いかにして、自分のものにするかにかかっています。

　居合に限らず、上達に近道はありません。「継続は力なり」という言葉がありますが、良い指導者の下、正しい方法で、地道に努力を積み重ねることしか、上達の方法はないのです。

TEACHING METHOD

Upon introduction to the dojo new enrollees will receive one on one instruction for approximately the first 3 months. (This depends on the individual) After you have become accustomed to iai you will join in regular practise with the other members. Initially you will train with a mock sword (iaito). If you progress you will be permitted to use a real sword (for safety we are very strict about who uses real swords). Teaching time is limited so please focus and train seriously. In order to progress we suggest you train outside the dojo (such as mental and image training at home or while commuting) There is no short cut to progress. “Continuity is power”. We can only teach you the forms you must make the effort to progress.
