ABSTRACT

This research project has been undertaken by the three researchers as named in the cover page under a grant awarded by The National Real Property Research Coordinator (NAPREC) in 2018. The research examines the topic of ‘Legal Issues and Challenges when Housing Developers act as Home Loan Financiers’.

This Executive Report provides a summary of the six Chapters in the Final Report. Chapter 1 sets out the framework for the research. Chapter 2 deals with the Literature Review, Chapter 3 undertakes a comparative jurisdictional study of the research issue, Chapter 4 deals with the research questions, Chapter 5 discusses the data collected with reference to Islamic home loan financing and Chapter 6 concludes with the research findings and recommendations.
