昨年に引き続き、日本動物行動学会誌で発表された研究の動画制作に参加しました。

A new research paper has been published in Ecology and Evolution.
I reported a species difference in nesting strategy (preference for nesting near wasp nests) between red-cheeked and blue-capped cordon-bleus. Red-cheeked cordon-bleus built their nests near wasp nests more frequently than blue-capped cordon-bleus. Their behaviors and ecology are usually described as "almost the same" in past literature, so the species difference had been overlooked.

新しい論文が出ました。一部鳥類では巣の防衛のためにハチの巣の近くに巣作りすることが知られていますが、その頻度がセイキチョウ２種（red-cheeked cordon-bleu と blue-capped cordon-bleu）において異なることを報告しています。これら２種は同じ地域に生息する近縁種で、図鑑の記載では「よく似た生態を持つ」とだけ説明されることが多く、巣作り行動に種差があることは報告されていませんでした。

Research Interests
My main research interest is the evolution and function of complex animal communication systems.
I am currently studying signal production mechanisms and communicative roles of multimodal mutual courtship display in socially monogamous songbirds which is known as "Tap-dancing birds".

動物の持つ複雑なコミュニケーションシステムの機能と進化に興味があります。
現在はセイキチョウ（青輝鳥）と呼ばれる社会的一夫一妻制の小鳥が雌雄でおこなうタップダンスのような求愛行動について研究しています。
