On March 2025, I traveled to Tampere University of Applied Sciences (TAMK) in Finland, accompanied by the students Or Benjamin and Dmitry Chudnovsky. The students developed a sophisticated software system that processes data from sensors mounted on a robot at the Finnish university's ICT Omron laboratory, with whom we've established this valuable partnership. The innovative system displays the data while enabling graph visualization and information filtering.
Our team proudly presented at the prestigious Eye on TAMK conference at Tampere University of Applied Sciences, showcasing our groundbreaking development. This significant conference highlights innovation and research from the university while fostering connections with researchers worldwide.
Or and Dmitry, final-year students, developed the ROBOMO project as their undergraduate capstone project, creating a simulation environment for the Finnish laboratory. We were delighted to demonstrate our successful collaboration with the ICT laboratory, which has continued throughout the past year. The conference provided an excellent platform to showcase how laboratory resources combined with student expertise can create projects with genuine industrial value.
I was inspired to see how TAMK champions student achievements and cultivates such strong international connections through events like this one.Our college similarly recognizes the importance of these exchanges, and this was a perfect example of that commitment.
I hope to facilitate another meeting between students from both institutions so they can continue to benefit from each other's perspectives and expertise. Finally, I want to express my gratitude to the college administration and the International Relations Office (IRO) for enabling this important inter-institutional collaboration."
The potential for further cooperation and new insights is tremendous. We're also planning to co-author a research paper on the subject"
During our visit, we toured campus laboratories and witnessed demonstrations of numerous cutting-edge technologies. I personally delivered a lecture on building user stories for application development – concepts I plan to incorporate into my courses here, but tailored to our local context.
For example, we're developing an augmented reality application that will contribute to the national effort to revitalize tourism in northern Israel. This will be the primary focus of this year's course.
