NanoTheraDOX
NanoTheraDOX
Results:
The research activities planned for Stage 1 of the project allowed us to achieve all the proposed objectives:
- synthesis of anisotropic, stable, and biocompatible nanoparticles for the fabrication of theranostic agent
- characterization of synthesized anisotropic nanoparticles by spectroscopic, optical, and microscopic methods
- the most suitable nanoparticles for the intrinsic therapeutic component of the theranostic agent have been selected
- the selected anisotropic nanoparticles were loaded with DOX drug by two different methods to obtain the extrinsic chemotherapeutic component of the theranostic agent
- the DOX loading capacity of nanoparticles was evaluated to select the most efficient system as a theranostic agent for future studies
- the results obtained were disseminated in a scientific conference
- the project' web page was created and updated
The research activities planned for Stage 2 of the project allowed us to achieve all the proposed objectives:
- evaluation of drug release as a function of medium pH and temperature
- evaluation of heat generated upon theranostic anisotropic nanoparticles irradiation
- evaluation of drug release upon temperature rise after theranostic anisotropic nanoparticles irradiation
- evaluation of theranostic anisotropic nanoparticles in biological phantoms
- the results obtained were disseminated in a scientific paper and an oral presentation at an international conference
