OBJECTIVES
OBJECTIVES
The main objective of the current project entitled “Development of a new theranostic agent based on Doxorubicin loaded anisotropic nanoparticles” is to design and fabricate a new class of theranostic nanoplatforms to demonstrate the feasibility of a new strategy to achieve increasing efficacy in cancer treatment by the potential synergistic combination of PTT and chemotherapy upon NIR light-irradiation.
Following specific and operational objectives will be achieved during the project:
1. Preparation of theranostic anisotropic nanoparticles loaded with a chemotherapeutic drug
2. Characterization of prepared theranostic nanoplatforms
3. Evaluation of drug release, photothermal ability, and photothermal influenced drug release in solution
4. Evaluation of theranostic anisotropic nanoparticles in biological phantoms
