Scientific talks and workshops during the Summer School will take place at the Pippard Lecture theatre in the Cavendish Laboratory (Department of Physics), University of Cambridge.

Accomodation for the Summer School is at Murray Edwards College, one of the colleges making up the University of Cambridge, and is 15-20 minutes walk from the Cavendish Laboratory.
Delegates will usually be allocated standard bedrooms with shared bathroom facilities. These have been refurbished recently and all come with toiletries, in-room refreshments, towels and a sink.
Directions to the college will be provided after registration on Monday. If you are delayed, please go to the Porters Lodge, where you will be issued with a swipe card and room key. Check in on Monday is after 12noon and check out on Thursday is by 09.00. WiFi internet is available in all bedrooms.
Breakfast will take place in the Dome Dining Hall from 07.45-09.00
The London Airports are the most convenient for Cambridge, and the closest is Stansted. There is a regular train service between Stansted and Cambridge. Buses run approximately hourly to Cambridge, taking about 45 minutes (very dependent upon traffic). From the train or bus station it is about a 45 or 35 minute walk to the Cavendish, respectively, or you can take a taxi. Heathrow and Gatwick airports are both served by hourly buses to Cambridge, or the London Underground services can be used to reach Kings Cross station, from where there are hourly trains. The journey time from Heathrow is at least 2 hours, and from Gatwick about 2-3 hours.
Trains run from both King's Cross and Liverpool Street stations in London. Cambridge station is about 3 miles from the Cavendish, it takes about 45-60 minutes to walk, or is a 10-60 minutes taxi ride, depending on traffic
There is a national bus station at Drummer Street in Cambridge. From there it takes about 35 minutes to walk to the Cavendish, or you can take a taxi.
Coming from the South, you will probably come up to the M11. Leave at junction 13, turn right along the A1303. The Cavendish is on the right after a mile or so on JJ Thomson Avenue.
Coming from the West, you probably come on the A428 from Bedford. Take the A1303 as you approach Cambridge, and you will be on the Madingley Road, with the Cavendish on the right off JJ Thomson before you enter the city.
Coming from the North, you should come on the A14 (formerly A604). Take the exit for Cambridge, and you enter along Huntingdon Road, to find the Cavendish on the left on JJ Thomson Avenue.
Please note that no parking is available on the Cavendish site, although it may be possible to find roadside parking within the local area.
