Space exploration, satellite technology, and future human outposts on the Moon and Mars all depend on a reliable and efficient power source. Photovoltaics (PV) are the undisputed champions for generating electricity in space. However, the harsh and extreme space environment poses significant challenges that limit the performance and lifespan of conventional solar technologies.
The SPACE & NANOSCALE PHOTOVOLTAIC RESEARCH GROUP, led by Dr. Jae Sung Yun, is at the forefront of developing a new generation of solar cells to meet these challenges. We are particularly focused on the transformative potential of organic-inorganic metal halide perovskites to revolutionize space power systems.
We welcome opportunities for multidisciplinary collaborations!
