[Feb. 2019] I gave a Department Seminar at Caltech in the APhMS Department.
[Aug. 2018] I gave an invited talk at Columbia University about my recent work on the single chain limit of van der Waals materials.
[Jul. 2018] My paper reporting the methodology to isolate single chain van der Waals materials and the observation of the Charge-induced Torsional Wave (CTW) in the single chain limit of NbSe3 was published in Science.

[Mar. 2018] I gave a talk entitled "Torsional instability in the single chain limit in a transition metal trichalcogenide" at APS March Meetings 2018, Los Angeles CA.
[Jun. 2017] I participated in the Cambridge-Berkeley Workshop at Bodega Bay. My group won the Proposal Writing Award for promoting student visit/exchange between research groups at the universities.
[Dec. 2016] I gave two talks at MRS Fall 2016 in Boston on 1) Large scale synthesis of BNNTs using novel plasma method, and 2) Gas sensing properties of 2-D materials based aerogels.
[Sep. 2016] My paper on atomic-resolution of defects in h-BN at elevated temperatures has been accepted to publish in Nano Letters.
[Aug. 2016] I gave a poster presentation about sp2-bonded materials for Materials Science Division (Lawrence Berkeley National Lab) Director's Grant Review.
[Apr. 2016] I gave a poster presentation about defects in h-BN at elevated temperatures at MRS Spring 2016 at Arizona. I also attended the Electron Microscopy workshop at Arizona State University.
[Dec. 2015] My paper presenting an universal (and also the first ever) method to fill BNNTs with metal nanowires and nanoparticles by wet chemistry got accepted to publish in Nano Letters.
[Dec. 2015] Our paper about propane sensing of BN aerogels loaded Pt particles has been featured as the cover article in Advanced Functional Materials.
[Nov. 2015] Our Extended Pressure Inductively Couple (EPIC) Plasma system for synthesis of BNNTs won a 2015 R&D 100 award. Check out the news at:Â
