Hello everyone!

I'm Nancy Dieu-Ngoc Nguyen (Nguyễn Diệu Ngọc) - an ordinary woman who chooses to be really truly simply happy, a wife, a mom of a son, a teacher of English, and a novice researcher..

I love bringing the world into my classroom; creating opportunities for my students to really use the language and develop their intercultural competence; using project-based learning & integrating Sustainable Development Goals into my teaching to help my students think globally, act locally and pave the way for them to become global citizens.

I am currently a PhD student in Applied Linguistics. I've been working on the research project dealing with Virtual Exchange and Global Citizenship Education.

I was a PGR rep (2023-2024) in Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) at Northumbria University and I'm currently the Editor-In-Chief of the Conference Proceedings for the 15th NNPCiLL (Newcastle & Northumbria Postgraduate Conference in Language and Linguistics).

- PhD Research Studentship from Northumbria University (England) 2022.
- Online Professional English Network Scholarship offered by Regional English Language Office – the U.S. Embassy 2021.
- Microsoft Innovative Educator (MIE) Expert – MIE Trainer (2018 – 2022) – Global Learning Mentor recognized by Microsoft in Education (08/2018 – present).
- First Prize, Education Exchange (E2) Vietnam jointly organized by Ministry of Education and Training and Microsoft Vietnam in 2020 for the innovative use of technology in education.
- Consolation Prize, Education Exchange (E2) Vietnam organized by Microsoft Vietnam in 2019 for the innovative use of technology in education.
- Second Prize, ‘UK in my eyes’ writing contest jointly organized by British Council and Vnexpress Newspaper in 2015.
- Fully funded scholarship to do Master of Arts in TESOL in England (January 2013 – June 2014).
- Third prize, Chinese Olympic exam at University level (2011).
- Consolation prize, Translation Olympic exam at University level (2011).
- University Scholarships for students with excellent academic performance (2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011).
