Venue
Venue Name: Faculty of Integrated Human Studies Building (総合人間学部), Kyoto University (京都大学), Yoshida South Campus (吉田南キャンパス).
Address: Yoshidanihonmatsucho, Sakyo-ward, Kyoto city (京都市左京区吉田二本松町).
There is no railway station near the campus, and there are two options to get to Kyoto University: the direct bus from Kyoto University and the combination of a bus and the subway. Both routes have merits and demerits.
Bus directly from Kyoto Station
Take a bus No. 206 from bus stop D2. It takes about 35 minutes from Kyoto station to the nearest bus stop to Kyoto University "Kyodai seimon mae (京大正門前)". Because Kyoto is now in tourism season, this bus may be very crowded and you may have to wait at Kyoto Station before taking a bus. It takes more time in case of jam-up around Kiyomizu (清水) and Gion (祇園). This route is very simple, but it takes longer time. If you do not have enough time, please consider the other route (or a taxi).
Subway and bus, change at Imadegawa Station
Take the subway (Karasuma line) at Kyoto station to Imadegawa station (今出川) (direction: Kyoto Kokusai Kaikan京都国際会館). Then, take a bus No.201 at Karasuma Imadegawa (烏丸今出川) to Kyoto University (Bus stop: Kyodai seimon mae (京大正門前)). It takes about 25 minutes. This route is a little difficult for visitors, but you can avoid jam-up in the bus and on the road and can save your time.
From Hotels of central city to University
From around Nijo Castle (二条城), you can take the subway Tozai line (東西線) to Higashiyama Station (東山) and change to a bus No.201 or 206 heading North.
From around Shijo Karasuma (四条烏丸), you can take a bus No.201 to University.
