To highlight the Namal Valley

Thirty kilometers away from Mianwali, there is a very beautiful Namal Lake in Kohistan-e- Namak. The lake holds attractions and objects of interest for picnic. Visitors to The Namal Lake always admire it. The establishment of Namal University has further highlighted the importance of this area. This area, known as Namal Valley, has been very ancient and inhabited for many centuries, which is evidenced by the oldest cemetery of Namal on the banks of the lake and the decayed graves here show how old this area is. There is a well-known tradition that before the British era, the ruler of this area was Raja Sarkap, who was very cruel. He had built a vast mansion of his own on the dark hills, whose walls are still there and he used to play that gamble in it. The Sirkap had declared that whoever defeats him will make him the ruler of the region, but whoever loses then his head will be cut down. In this way, he beheaded many of the losers and ended the atrocities. Finally, a king of Sialkot, Raja Risalu, defeated him, on which Raja Sarkap married his only daughter Kokalan to him and also handed her the rule of the entire region.
