Formerly the Lasam Cacao Growers Association, NaLaCAS ACo or Natalged a Lasam Cacao Sustainable Agriculture Cooperative, was accredited by the Cooperative Development Authority on October 16, 2024. The Coop is committed to contributing to agricultural productivity, livelihood and economic development in the  Municipality of Lasam. Cacao is among the local industries being developed, alongside bamboo and coconut, for their potential as drivers of local economic growth. 

NaLaCAS ACo was established because of the growing interest in cacao farming, toward advancing cacao industry in the Municipality of Lasam. 

Cacao being a profitable high value crop, Municipal Mayor Dante Dexter Agatep himself, has been encouraging his Lasameño constituents to plant more cacao in addition to, or alongside their existing upland crops.

LGU Lasam has already afforded NaLaCAS ACo substantial support for the development of the cacao industry in Lasam.
