Hi, I am Nakul (He/Him)! I am a graduate student in the Department of Aerospace Engineering at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and I work with Prof. Deborah A. Levin on high-fidelity modeling of plasma-based flows. I like learning and exploring new research ideas in physics and related areas. My background is in High-Performance-Computing of plasma-based flows. I have experience in performing Particle-in-Cell (PIC) simulations for various applications, such as ion thruster plume plasma, low-earth-orbit ambient plasma, beam plasma, and laboratory plasma. While working on these modeling problems, I have also acquired experience in the theoretical aspects of plasma which involve space-charge sheaths and plasma waves. My research interests are in modeling plasma-based devices for applications such as flow-control, and heat transfer over spacecraft's aerodynamic and thermal control surfaces.
Other than research, I like exploring new hiking trails, occasional painting, chess, and starting (and not finishing) new audiobooks :).
