Hi, I am Nakul (He/Him)! I am a computational plasma physicist at Applied Materials Inc. I work on plasma physics simulations to model various low-temperature plasma sources used in the semiconductor manufacturing processes. I graduated from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 2023, where I worked with Prof. Deborah A. Levin on high-fidelity modeling of plasma-based flows. I like learning and exploring new research ideas in physics and related areas. In my graduate school, I gained experience performing Particle-in-Cell (PIC) simulations for various applications, including ion thruster plume plasma, low-Earth-orbit ambient plasma, beam plasma, and laboratory plasma. I also have some experience in the theoretical aspects of plasma, which involve space-charge sheaths and plasma waves. My research interests are in modeling plasma-based devices for semiconductor manufacturing applications.
Other than research, I like exploring new hiking trails, occasional painting, chess, and audiobooks :).
