Important Note: Car Park Closures
Please note that this consultation is about the new affordable housing schemes being proposed and not about the closure of the existing car parks. The decision to close the car parks and allocate the sites for housing was made by the Council's Cabinet in 2016 and again in 2019. Naked House is therefore seeking your views on the designs of the housing only.
Naked House is a not-for-profit community housing company. Our mission is to help those that are currently priced out of property ownership by creating genuinely affordable homes. You can find out more here: http://www.nakedhouse.org/
Our homes will be:
Affordable
We are working with Enfield Council to develop three vacant sites in order to provide dwellings that will be sold at a 20–30% discount from market prices, and for which Enfield residents in need of affordable housing will be given priority. A resale covenant will ensure they remain affordable in perpetuity, so the homes will keep on serving the local community.
Custom-Build
Each home can be adapted and improved by purchasers to make it their own: be that a new kitchen, extra space needed for a growing family, a home office, or a bedroom for a live-in carer. We think this is an exciting opportunity for people to take a first step onto the housing ladder and be part of their own solution to the housing crisis.
Sustainable
Homes will be super insulated – keeping energy consumption and future bills low.
Community-Focused
A community garden and play area on Raynton Road and a new connection to the New River by Meyer Green will ensure the sites contribute positively to the local neighbourhood.
The homes are being designed at the moment. We will submit a planning application in summer 2021.
You can see each location in more detail on dedicated pages on this site. We really welcome any feedback that you might have on the proposals, which will help us to refine the designs. A short feedback form has been provided.
We are not your average developer and we hope these homes will be a real asset to the local community!
We will be hosting two covid-safe e-consultation events so that we can present the schemes and invite any questions you may have. The two dates for these are as follows:
