I am a recent graduate with a Master in Public Affairs from Princeton University's School of Public and International Affairs (SPIA) with a concentration in international development and certificate in science, technology, and environmental policy. I am also a freelance writer with bylines in the Times Union, Business Insider, MuslimMatters, Boston Political Review, and other outlets.
Prior to graduate school, I was a Data Analyst on Bloomberg’s Company Financials team, where I focused on the healthcare/pharmaceutical industry. I was also previously a Research Fellow at the Harvard Kennedy School's Wiener Center for Social Policy, where I worked with Professors Will Dobbie and Crystal Yang on interdisciplinary projects focusing on racial discrimination and inequality in the criminal legal system. Lastly, I am a former NextGen Advisory Council Member at the Institute for Social Policy and Understanding, an organization which conducts and disseminates research on American Muslims.
I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Boston University in May 2021 with a B.A. in Economics (with honors) and minors in Public Policy Analysis and Computer Science. My interests include social and economic justice, political economy, foreign policy, and international development. I am passionate about evidence-based policy and public service, and using data to tell stories and make decisions.
I am a recipient of the Boston University Departmental Prize in Economics, a Truman Scholarship finalist, and was a Fulbright Scholarship recipient (declined).
My experience includes foreign affairs research on the Middle East, international development policy and communications, civil rights advocacy, and data science for social impact. I am committed to using my strong technical background, analytical skills, and passion for social impact to create a more equitable society through effective policymaking.
Outside of my academic and professional activities, I enjoy running, tennis, painting, and drawing.
