All Standing Committees must have at least three (3) appointed members. They shall report in writing each month to the Executive Committee at its regular meetings.

Community Coordination - Outreach and coalition forming.
Criminal Justice - Works to reform policies and advocate for public safety.
Finance - Budgeting and reporting.
Freedom Fund - Plan and conduct Fundraising activities.

Legal Redress & Political Action - Increase voter engagement and enfranchisement, monitors local and state government and legislation. Reviews submitted issues; If you have something to report, submit an Incident, call (605) 610-8842 or email us NAACPSD@gmail.com .

Afro-Academic, Cultural, Technological and Scientific Olympics (ACT-SO) - Academic and Cultural events: Recognize young people who could demonstrate academic, scientific, and artistic achievement, allowing young people to gain recognition equal to that often achieved by entertainers and athletes. Plans and conducts the annual ACT-SO academic competitions for students in grades nine (9) through twelve (12).
Armed Services & Veteran Affairs: Disseminate the identified resources, services, and programs to its members who are veterans and their families.
Economic Development: Implement local efforts and support national programs to preserve and expand economic empowerment among BIPOC communities by researching and establishing relationships with private and public entities.
Environmental and Climate Justice: We work with our community to: reduce harmful [pollutants] emissions, including greenhouse gasses, with advocacy to strengthen development, monitoring, and enforcement of regulations at federal, state, and local levels. Promote energy efficiency and clean energy solutions that equitably provide good, local jobs.

Labor and Industry: Attempts to improve the economic status of minority groups by working to eliminate discriminatory employment practices in industry and government, wage differentials based on race, unequal opportunities for training, promotion, and unfair dismissals; encouraging greater participation in the trade union movement; working to end discriminatory practices in labor unions; securing the enactment of local, state and federal fair employment practices legislation; and working for improved opportunities in vocational and apprenticeship training.
Prison Branch Support - Supports the coordination and development of programming of a Prison Branch.
Religious Affairs: Includes ministerial and lay religious leaders. Promote an educational program designed to give moral and ethical interpretation to the civil rights struggle; interpret the work of the Association to organized religious groups of all faiths; enlist the support of such organized religious groups for membership, fundraising, and the struggle for equality and full civil rights; and provide resource assistance for religious education and social action activities, associated with the improvement of race relations.
Tribal Relations - Outreach and coalition forming with Tribal Nations and Native communities in South Dakota.
Womxn in the NAACP (WIN) - Addresses civil rights issues affecting womxn and children.
Youth Works: Develop and coordinate the programs of the Branches and Youth Units of members under age 21.
Young Adult - Supports the coordination and development of programming for members ages 21-40.
Youth & Education - Works to eliminate discriminatory practices in public education.
