There will always be a question that asks you to calculate:
the cost of specified ingredients in a dish
the total cost of the dish
the portion size
The cost of each ingredient will always be a whole number, but you will have to round the answer for the cost per portion up or down to the nearest whole number.
You must read the question carefully, as the number of portions may vary between exams.
