  • Plug your Netgear N300 extender to power outlet.

  • Wait until the Power led turns green

    • If you didn’t notice any power LED on your extender, then press ON/OFF button on the extender.

  • Connect your laptop or computer with the extender using a LAN cable or wifi connection.

    • To connect with LAN cable, use a LAN cable to connect the LAN port on the extender to an LAN port of your computer or laptop.

    • To connect with wifi take your computer or laptop, open the wifi connection manager and connect your device with the extender network named NETGEAR_EXT.

  • Once your laptop or computer is connected with the extender the client link LED lights.

  • Open any web browser and enter www.mywifiext.net or http://192.168.1.250 in the address field of the browser.

  • Press ENTER, new Netgear extender setup page displays.

  • Click on the new extender setup button.

  • Complete the onscreen instructions.

  • Verify that the Access Point/Extender switch is set to Extender and click the Continue button.

  • Select the wifi network that you want to extend.

  • Provide the login credentials.

  • In the Password field, type the router's existing WiFi network password and click the NEXT button.

  • Set the network name and password for your extender and click the next button.

  • Wait for the page to display a list of new extender WiFi networks, which might take up to one minute.

  • Make sure that your computer or laptop is successfully connected before you click the CONTINUE button.

  • Click the CONTINUE button.

  • The registration page displays.

  • Complete the registration fields and click the FINISH button to complete the setup.

  • Unplug the Netgear wifi extender and move it to a new location where you want to be.

  • Make sure the location that you choose must be within the range of your existing WiFi router network.
