In this present dispensation of grace, many churches continue teaching doctrines that conflict with what the Holy Spirit revealed through Paul, our apostle. This resource aims to expose common theological myths by rightly dividing the word of truth (2 Timothy 2:15).

The Myth: God predestined only certain individuals for salvation through unconditional election.
The Truth: In this dispensation of grace, salvation is freely offered to all:
"Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth" (1 Timothy 2:4)
"For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men" (Titus 2:11)
Paul's gospel reveals that predestination relates to our position in Christ after salvation, not to who can be saved.
The Myth: One must "make Christ Lord of their life" or show works to prove genuine salvation.
The Truth: Salvation today is by grace through faith alone:
"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast" (Ephesians 2:8-9)
"But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness" (Romans 4:5)
The Myth: The Pope is Christ's vicar on earth with supreme spiritual authority.
The Truth: The Body of Christ today has:
One mediator: "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus" (1 Timothy 2:5)
Direct access to God through Christ: "In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him" (Ephesians 3:12)
The Myth: The Church has permanently replaced Israel in God's program.
The Truth: Israel's program is temporarily suspended, not replaced:
"For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery...that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in" (Romans 11:25)
God will fulfill all promises to Israel: "And so all Israel shall be saved" (Romans 11:26)
The Myth: Water baptism is required for salvation or church membership today.
The Truth: There is only one baptism for today's believers:
"For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body" (1 Corinthians 12:13)
Paul was not sent to baptize: "For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel" (1 Corinthians 1:17)
The Myth: There is only one gospel message throughout scripture.
The Truth: The gospel of the kingdom (requiring repentance and water baptism) differs from Paul's gospel of grace:
Kingdom: "Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand" (Matthew 3:2)
Grace: "Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel...that Christ died for our sins...and that he was buried, and that he rose again" (1 Corinthians 15:1-4)
The Myth: Tongues, healing, and other sign gifts continue today.
The Truth: Sign gifts were temporary and have ceased:
"Whether there be tongues, they shall cease" (1 Corinthians 13:8)
Signs were for Israel: "For the Jews require a sign" (1 Corinthians 1:22)
The Myth: The Church, the Body of Christ, began in Acts 2 at Pentecost.
The Truth: The Body of Christ began with Paul's conversion:
Paul was the first member: "Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might shew forth all longsuffering, for a pattern" (1 Timothy 1:16)
The mystery was revealed to Paul, not Peter: "How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery" (Ephesians 3:3)
The Myth: Christians should keep the Law or parts of it today.
The Truth: We are not under the Law:
"For ye are not under the law, but under grace" (Romans 6:14)
"Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace" (Galatians 5:4)
The Myth: There is one continuous church throughout scripture.
The Truth: Scripture reveals multiple churches for different programs:
The prophetic kingdom church to Israel
The mystery church, the Body of Christ
"For this cause I Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles, If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward" (Ephesians 3:1-2)
Rightly dividing God's word reveals these common teachings as myths that conflict with Paul's distinctive message for today. Understanding these differences helps us:
"Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth" (2 Timothy 2:15)
"That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine" (Ephesians 4:14)
For deeper study on these topics, always consult Paul's epistles (Romans through Philemon) as our primary doctrine for today, comparing scripture with scripture while maintaining proper dispensational distinctions.
