Extract from my email to my "mentee", Nicholas Biernath:
The first thing I want to review is your performance of ”Zombie”. I think you guys did a pretty good job with it, but it was a little rushed, which makes it more difficult to perform in this case, so tempo is something you as a band have to be careful with. Also, I noticed that you weren’t 100% confident in your performance, but it shouldn’t be that way. You’re a great singer with a lot of potential, so don’t doubt yourself, you can do it!!
Now about your website, I believe that you’re off to a good start, but I noticed that you are missing some essential things. For example, you didn’t include all the pages that are necessary to have a complete music portfolio (me as a musician, my instruments, my performances, my assignments, my compositions, my reviews, useful links). Don’t worry if you don’t have all the content to fill in those pages, you can just write that at the moment these pages will remain empty. Also, on “my instruments”, you should add some facts about the voice as an instrument (historical, technical, scientific, etc.), but also make sure to talk about your own journey with your voice. On the me as a musician page you should really talk about your own connection to music and how you see yourself as musician/ your development as a musician. You should try to add some pictures of you during performances and more videos, if you have more of course. Lastly, I think it would be a good thing for you to check through your spelling and in case it helps you, just use autocorrection on your keyboard.
Some of this feedback is part of the feedback I have received on my own website in the past, so remember that this is just another learning process and it will get easier with time!!

Here is a part of the feedback I gave my other "mentee", Odysseas Papantoniou:
My first task as your music mentor is to give you feedback on your website.
I looked through it and I first want to say that you structured your website really well. Also, I liked the description you wrote about the piano - short, but right to the point. Though I think you should add a “me as a musician” page to talk more about your own journey with music. Furthermore, you should write at least one review. You could review your performance at the New Year’s Concert and don’t forget to add a video of it to your performances!! I also think you should add more pictures of yourself playing the piano on your website if you have any.
Lastly, I wanted to tell you I loved what you did on the useful links page - a smart move;).
Updated feedback - Here is the feedback I gave him on his class' performance of "Fly Me to the Moon" :
Hey Odysseas,
First of all I completely forgot to thank you for your feedback!! I’ll look into what I could add on my reviews page.
So, I looked at your website again and I was really glad to see how it improved, you are doing a great job with it!!!
Now I will also review a performance of yours and I chose “Fly Me to the Moon” from this year's New Year’s Concert. I really loved the instrumentation in the song, you guys were great and I do not really have anything negative to say about your performance on the piano. You are definitely really good at accompanying songs, so keep it up! The only problem with the performance overall were the microphones. They did not seem to be sufficiently loud and therefore the singers were kind of in the shadow of the instruments, even though they should have been louder. It is sad that your performance did not go as well as it could have, because of the sound. Next time you guys should do a proper sound check to make sure all the microphones and instruments are in the right volume.
I hope this helps a little :)
Have a nice afternoon,
Myrto
