I enrolled for my primary education in Turesia Girls Secondary school where I got to know how to write and experience life outside the family setup. School was fun with a lot of playful activities. I did well in my final exam for primary level then got a chance to join a Sing'ore girls secondary school. The school was great as students were nurtured to being whole rounded. It was diverse with students from all parts of the country.
Mathematics and Biology were my favorite subjects and I would always study and share them with others more often than the humanities. Apart from my studies, the institution helped me build my social and interaction skills as well as self-discipline. Hockey was part of the extra-curricular activities that I enjoyed. Studying in a Christian-based institution nurtured my Christian faith strongly. The belief in spiritual values instilled in me throughout my schooling has been a strong motivator to develop peaceful human relationships.
Upon completion of high school studies, I attained a mean grade of B (plus), which was below the cut-off mark to pursue Economics and Statistics at The University of Nairobi which was my dream university. However, my mother advised me to pursue Bachelor in Education and take Mathematics and Business Studies as my core subjects as they were related to what I desired to pursue. I joined The University of Nairobi for my undergraduate studies in 2017. My first year was not challenging at all owing to my previous experience with diverse cultures and personalities. Unlike many of my classmates, I made many friends, attended all my lectures, and completed assignments with ease. In my second year, we had to choose one subject to major in and I settled on Mathematics. Studying became tougher with Covid-19 but I never gave up. Instead, I enrolled for an online course at Riara University to pursue Certificate in Teaching International Curriculums for 6 months. Eventually, I graduated in September 2021.
Immediately, I enrolled to study for master of Education (Special Education, Advanced) at Torrens University. The journey has been incredibly enriching, offering me valuable insights, practical skills, and a deeper understanding of inclusive education practices. I experienced consistent academic growth and personal development throughout the course. I am proud to share that I successfully completed the program on 25th August 2024.
