Here are some quicks tips on how to maximize your experience and all of the benefits.
Stay Hydrated
Your body is still processing the effects of the massage and the metabolic waste that has been eliminated in the circulatory system. To eliminate the waste, it's important to stay hydrated. Try drinking half of your body weight in ounces. Drinking water or herbal teas are excellent methods for staying hydrated. Avoid regular tea, coffee, alcohol, or any other stimulants.
My favorite teas are sold locally and we can have a conversation about the blends I prefer 314-803-7018. If you don't have time in advance to prepare, the simplest and easiest option is to make lemon water. You can make a pitcher of lemon water the day of your appointment. In a standard pitcher and add at least half a lemon, sliced and more if your prefer.
Eat Clean
To support the body's elimination process eat clean foods and avoid sugary processed foods. Think whole, natural foods.
Here is a sample menu for the next 24 hours:
Breakfast: Smoothie: 1 cup of unsweetened, vanilla almond milk or coconut milk, 1/2 cup of your preferred fresh or frozen berries, 1 scoop of Raw Meal Protein or Vega, can be purchased at most grocery stores. If you use fresh berries you may want to add ice to get your preferred temperature. Add chia or flax seeds for an extra boost of nutrition.
Lunch: 6-8 oz of grilled tofu, chicken or fish with sautéed/grilled/baked fresh veggies. Choose from broccoli, carrots, asparagus, cauliflower.
Dinner: Mix up your favorite dark green leafy veggies with your choice of protein. Avoid cheese and croutons. For dressing make your own by mixing oil and vinegar. My exact recipe is 1/3 a cup of Olive Oil and 1/4 Red Wine Vinegar add in salt and pepper to taste and shake.
Move your body
Whether you're into running, HIIT, yoga, pilates or walking in nature, any body movement is good post treatment. Try a minimum of 20 minutes to get your heart rate elevated. You should still be able to maintain conversation with a slight difficulty in talking.
