My Life in Reels · tvOS Screensaver App · Effective Date: 2026-05-20
No data ever leaves your device
My Life in Reels is a personal screensaver app for Apple TV that displays your own photos and videos from your iCloud Photos library. This app is designed for personal use. It does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal information with anyone — including the developer.
My Life in Reels requests access to your iCloud Photos library using Apple's PhotoKit framework. This access is used solely to:
Read photos and videos from your Favorites album
Read metadata embedded in your media files (date taken, GPS location if present)
Display that content on your Apple TV screen
No photos, videos, or metadata are uploaded, transmitted, or stored outside of your device. All media remains on your device and in your iCloud account, which is governed by Apple's own Privacy Policy.
If your photos contain embedded GPS coordinates (a standard part of photo metadata stored by your iPhone or camera), My Life in Reels may read and display that location as a watermark on-screen. This data:
Is read directly from the photo file on your device
Is never transmitted to any server or third party
Is never stored separately from what already exists in your photo library
My Life in Reels does not access your device's live GPS location. It only reads location data that you have already captured as part of your photos.
My Life in Reels stores a small amount of app state locally on your Apple TV using Apple's UserDefaults system. This includes:
The shuffled playback queue (a list of photo/video identifiers)
Your current position in that queue
App preferences (playback speed, watermark display settings)
This data exists only on your Apple TV. It is never backed up to any external server operated by the developer, and it is deleted when you uninstall the app.
My Life in Reels does not use any analytics tools, crash reporters, advertising SDKs, or third-party tracking libraries. No usage data, behavioral data, or device identifiers are collected.
My Life in Reels does not share any information with third parties. The app does not contain advertisements and does not integrate with any advertising or data broker networks.
The app runs on Apple hardware and uses Apple frameworks (PhotoKit, AVKit, SwiftUI). Apple's handling of your iCloud Photos data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
My Life in Reels does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children. Because no data is collected at all, there are no special considerations for users under the age of 13 (COPPA) or 16 (GDPR).
If this privacy policy is updated in a future version of the app, the updated policy will be available within the app and on the App Store listing. Continued use of the app after any update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
