Simone Starr tells all after Sydney's criminal underworld rocked by explosion

Simone Starr is a private schoolgirl turned high-class escort - a Penthouse Pet, swimsuit model, and drug smuggler. She's also the target of a bomb that exploded and disfigured her bodybuilding boyfriend.

Simone survived it all - but what at first looked exciting and glamorous from the outside has left her broken and filled with regret.

"If I sort myself out and become a person who is a better person, if I can get that right and get a moral compass and ethics, people might look at me differently," Simone tells Sunday Night's Alex Cullen. "Maybe I could find that happiness. But I didn’t know how to change myself."

Simone never knew her dad, and her mother was a prostitute while she was enrolled in some of Australia's most exclusive boarding schools.

"She left her third husband, and she couldn't pay my boarding school fees," Simone recalls. "She took me out as a day student at St Hildas [on the Gold Coast] in Year 10. That really upset me, because she was doing that [prostitution] privately from our apartment. I couldn’t come out of my room."
