My Life in Gold Coast

About Me

Hello there! My name is Sienna. I am a 25-year-old MBA student from Miami, a coastal suburb of Gold Coast. Born and brought up in this old precinct of Gold Coast I am very fond of this place as the suburb offers some most amazing eateries, cafes, shopping centres and lively streets. Read more..

All About Miami

Miami is called the hidden gem of the Gold Coast, but for individuals who are not well informed up, it can often get confused in a gulf between Burleigh and Mermaid. Exhibiting classic surfing spots, uber cool restaurants, cafes and bars and an awe-inspiring collection of creatives, if you have not explored this hood already, you are definitely going to visit it.

Damned with a striking beach, varied choices of accommodation, and home to some pretty cool beach shacks which all will take you back in the time of the old Gold Coast, you can get a thought that you were in that other (Florida) Miami. But this is all in your own Gold Coast.

Miami Ice

For many past years, this calm suburb of Gold Coast was home to a classical ice factory, Miami Ice, built from two reprocessed army sheds which were destroyed in 2013. The site is also known for shooting of Two Strong Hearts picture scenes shot by Australian Artist John Farnham here. But though the debate over the destruction of this national icon has meanwhile melted, Miami still remains a cool suburb to visit its growing café culture.

Miami Marketta

The best part of a visiting the place is Miami Marketta, where it seems foodie heaven with an open-air diner experience with seating for 450 persons and offering the taste from all over the world. Edgy native watering shacks such as The Shed Bar and The Cargo Bar offer boutique wine and local prepared beer, whereas the front stage is a warm bed of indigenous blues, roots, jazz and independent entertainers.

It may seem to be the back streets of New York City, Thailand or Barcelona but unbelievably it is right here in Miami in the coastal suburb of Gold Coast, Miami Marketta Street Food offers the street food dining experience every Friday and Saturday with around 25 food stalls of different nationalities all at one place. Take your starter from Spain or a main course from Thailand and desserts and sweets from France along with fashion, art and mini homeware shops to shops, next can be a bar pumping out amazing handcrafted cocktails or even enjoy some exciting live music while you are still exploring it!

Mick Schamburg Park

A little high Miami Cliff offers amazing sights from Mick Schamburg Park at the curve of connecting points of Miami beaches and North Burleigh. The widespread seaside views to both the south and the north make this place a scenic park.

The Park is also a beautiful wedding destination which outlooks through the ocean in the direction of Rainbow Bay in the South and Surfers Paradise in the North. There are green crowned paths or boardwalk ranges available for the dreamy ceremonial experience.

A facilities building is situated in the park at the end of the hill. The Headland ceremonies will need a moderate vertical walk by the guests up to the trail, to enjoy the ceremony with scenic views.
