Independent Schools

The National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS) is a nonprofit membership association that provides services to more than 1,900 schools and associations of schools in the United States and abroad, including more than 1,600 independent private K-12 schools in the U.S.

Each unique, varying in identity, mission, culture, and program, ISACS member schools share ideals in the form of a set of common standards for good practice and a professional learning community. More than 240 member schools, serving over 90,000 students, count on ISACS for high quality accreditation services, professional development programs, and resources.

With an ongoing commitment to equity and inclusion, the Association of Independent Schools in New England (AISNE) shapes the educational landscape for independent schools through leadership, education, service, and strategic advocacy.

NYSAIS is a voluntary association of 199 independent nursery, elementary, and secondary schools enrolling over 83,000 students. It is affiliated with the National Association of Independent Schools and the New York State Coalition for Independent and Religious Schools. Founded in 1947, the Association is chartered by the New York State Board of Regents and is incorporated as a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization.

The Association of Technology Leaders in Independent Schools (ATLIS) was founded in 2014 as the only national professional association addressing the unique challenges of independent school Technology Directors. ATLIS includes over 200 member schools and over 1,000 individual members seeking to share knowledge and resources with colleagues throughout the US. Serving both the instructional technology and information technology professionals, ATLIS offers programming, community, and resources.
