The first time I saw the worm was sometime in October 1990, when I visited Tony Otsuka's lab to chat with my college friend, Kyu H. Shim.
What was your first worm project? Generation of monoclonal antibodies against C. elegans matrix proteins. Instead, I made a monoclonal antibody against UNC-54 myosin (I still use it for my research and class - it works well).
What is your project now? I study the function of β integrin and matrix proteins in cell functions.
Teaching: Genes and Development, Genes and Development laboratory, freshmen biology, Molecular Cell Biology, and Advanced Genetic Analysis.
Favorite hobbies: I was a drummer in a band.
