Welcome to the support page for My Condition Explained. We're here to help you get the most out of the app. If you have a question, please check our Frequently Asked Questions below.
Q: How do I create a new card? To create a new card, simply tap the plus icon (+) located in the top-right corner of the main "My Condition Cards" screen. This will open a blank form for you to fill in.
Q: How do I edit or delete an existing card? From the main list of your cards, you can swipe left on any card to reveal options.
Tap the blue "Edit" button (with the pencil icon) to open the form and make changes to that card.
Tap the red "Delete" button (with the bin icon) to permanently remove that card. Please note that this action cannot be undone.
Q: Is my data private and secure? Yes. Your privacy is the highest priority. All information you enter into the app is stored only on your device. The developer, Andrew Nolan, does not have access to, collect, or transmit any of your personal or health information. For more details, please see our Privacy Policy.
Q: Can I back up or sync my cards between devices? The app does not have an automatic cloud backup or sync feature in order to maintain your privacy. Your data lives only on the device where you created it.
If you wish to create a backup, we recommend using the "Share" button inside a card to send the generated image or text to your own private email, notes app, or personal cloud storage (like iCloud Drive or Google Drive).
Q: I have a lot of text, but the shared card image isn't scrollable. Is this correct? Yes, that is correct. The "Share" function is designed to generate a single, static image of your card. If your text is long, the app will create a taller image to fit all the information, but the image file itself cannot be scrolled. This ensures that the person you share it with can see everything at once without needing a special app to view it.
Q: The app isn't opening correctly after an update. What should I do? This can occasionally happen if there's been a change to the app's data structure. The simplest solution is to delete the app from your device and then reinstall it from the App Store. Warning: This will delete all cards currently saved in the app. We recommend backing up your card information (using the Share feature) before any major updates if possible.
Be Clear and Concise: Imagine someone needing to understand the information quickly in a stressful situation. Use simple, direct language.
Use Layperson's Terms: Avoid overly technical medical jargon where possible. The "About My Condition (In Brief)" section is perfect for this.
Focus on Actionable Advice: The "Do's & Don'ts" and "What Helps Me" sections are most effective when they provide clear, actionable guidance.
Review and Update Regularly: If your symptoms, medications, or emergency contacts change, be sure to update your card.
If your question is not answered above, or if you have any feedback or suggestions, we would love to hear from you.
