"The Social Mask Everyone Wears" is a very symbolic photography. You can see a house which is a metaphor of a human being and the human body, and the human being/body is a “house” for a soul.
The building is perfectly centered, and the front wall and the back divide the painting into two halves. This is supposed to reflect the humans' dual nature: physical and emotional.
The front of the house represents the face of an individual. The back of the house symbolizes the inside of a person; their emotions, soul, and energy.
First, the front:
it is a metaphor of the “Social Mask Everyone Wears”, the shallow surface, people put on their face while interacting with others to pretend that everything in our life is amazing.
the windows represent eyes, and eyes are the mirror of the soul. The window frames are white and clean, however, the inside of the windows is dark which represents the emotions sitting in the soul of a person who wears this shallow Social Mask.
the doors are like a mouth; open, expressive, full of brightness coming from the inside. This reflects the idea of what people wearing the Social Mask say. Everything coming out from their mouth seems to be very beautiful, nice, and positive. They also talk a lot, like they needed to hide what their sad eyes say about their inner world.
Second, the back:
the back of the house is covered by half-living-half-fading vines, and the further they go, the more life-less they become. This symbolizes the sadness and darkness of a suffering soul. The deeper you go, the less life, health, and energy are in it. Also, dark colors reflect the negativity and mystery of the soul
