My name is Karolina Zaluski and I originally come from Warsaw, Poland. I recently realized how important art and the desire to share it with the world is for me. I have been always following my inner dreams
and passions, and I think it is very important since it lets you express, identify, and, therefore, find your real self.
I went through many different stages in my life in terms of things I love doing. One of them was a passion for cooking. As a 14-year old girl, I started running my own catering business and Facebook fan page Cooking by Caroline (link). Unfortunately, at some point, I got to know about my food allergies which prevented me from developing my dream of becoming a professional cook.
However, I always think that when one door closes, another opens. Therefore, the end of my culinary path was the beginning of new and amazing changes in my life.
I moved to NYC for college, where I am studying Economics, which I very much love. Economics is present and finds its application universally, no matter if it relates to the economy and finance or cooking, art, and philosophy. This experience, of gaining knowledge in the field of economics, opened my mind, perception, and understanding of the world. I also found
the courage to say "yes" to things before even thinking
"no", and this is how I let myself grow, experiment, and therefore, found who I am and what energizes me in life.
One of the things I learned about myself is my artistic soul. I love appreciating the beauty of the world which I try to experience to the fullest extend, by involving all of my senses: touch, smell, sound, sight, taste, and a thought.
According to Ayurvedic beliefs, thought is the last and a very important sense we humans have. It is the beginning of creation since things are created twice: first, in our mind, second, in reality, and thought combines all of the senses into one unforgettable experience-our life.
Involving all of the sensory impulses, motivates humans to live in a unique way, and in my art, I want to express how I see this beautiful world, by sharing my excitement about simple things, showing what amazes me, telling you how we all can play with your perception to change negativity into positiveness, and helping all of us with knowing how to enjoy ourselves by appreciating what we have.
