ನನ್ನ ಮ್ಯಾಕ್ರೋ ಫೋಟೋಗ್ರಫಿ ಪ್ರವಾಸ

ನನ್ನ ಫೋಟೋಗ್ರಫಿ ಪ್ರವಾಸವು 1990ರ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭದಲ್ಲಿ, ರೀಲ್ ಕ್ಯಾಮೆರಾಗಳ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭವಾಯಿತು. ಆ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ, ಸರಳ ಪಾಯಿಂಟ್-ಅಂಡ್-ಶೂಟ್ ಕ್ಯಾಮೆರಾಗಳ ಮೂಲಕ ಭೂದೃಶ್ಯಗಳು, ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಚಿತ್ರಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಕುಟುಂಬ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳನ್ನು ಸೆರೆಹಿಡಿಯುವ ಮೂಲಕ ನಾನು ಪ್ರಪಂಚವನ್ನು ಅನ್ವೇಷಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದೆ. 1991ರ ವೇಳೆಗೆ ಫೋಟೋಗ್ರಫಿ ಈಗಾಗಲೇ ನನ್ನ ಒಲವಿನ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿತ್ತು ಮತ್ತು 1997–98ರಲ್ಲಿ ನಾನು ಮೊದಲ ಬಾರಿಗೆ ಎಸ್‌ಎಲ್‌ಆರ್ ಕ್ಯಾಮೆರಾಗಳನ್ನು ಬಳಸುವುದನ್ನು ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸಿದೆ, ನನ್ನ ಚಿತ್ರಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಸೃಜನಶೀಲ ಕೆಲಸಗಳನ್ನು ದಾಖಲಿಸಲು.

ಹಂತ ಹಂತವಾಗಿ, ನನ್ನ ಆಸಕ್ತಿ ವನ್ಯಜೀವಿ ಫೋಟೋಗ್ರಫಿ ಕಡೆಗೆ ವಿಸ್ತರಿಸಿತು ಮತ್ತು ಬೇಗನೆ, ನನ್ನ ಸ್ನೇಹಿತ ಗುರುರಾಜು ಅವರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಮ್ಯಾಕ್ರೋ ಫೋಟೋಗ್ರಫಿಯ ಆಕರ್ಷಕ ಜಗತ್ತಿಗೆ ನಾನು ಕಾಲಿಟ್ಟೆ. 2000ರ ವೇಳೆಗೆ, ನಾವು ಮ್ಯಾಕ್ರೋ ಶಾಟ್‌ಗಳನ್ನು ಪ್ರಯೋಗಾತ್ಮಕವಾಗಿ ತೆಗೆಯಲು ಆರಂಭಿಸಿದ್ದೆವು ಮತ್ತು ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಕಾಲ ಇದು ಗಂಭೀರ ಹವ್ಯಾಸವಾಗಿ ರೂಪುಗೊಂಡಿತು. 2017ರಲ್ಲಿ, ಪಶ್ಚಿಮ ಘಟ್ಟದ ಸಿರ್ಸಿಯ ದಟ್ಟ ಕಾಡಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದ ತೀವ್ರ ಮೂರು ದಿನಗಳ ಮ್ಯಾಕ್ರೋ ಫೋಟೋಗ್ರಫಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಾಗಾರದಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿದಾಗ ಮಹತ್ತರ ಕ್ಷಣವೊಂದು ಎದುರಾಯಿತು. ಖ್ಯಾತ ಛಾಯಾಗ್ರಾಹಕ ಉದಯ ಹೆಗ್ಡೆ ಅವರ ಮಾರ್ಗದರ್ಶನದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದ ಈ ಅನುಭವವು ಪ್ರಕೃತಿ ಮತ್ತು ವನ್ಯಜೀವಿಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ನನ್ನ ಅರಿವು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸಿತು. ಇದೇ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ, ನಾನು ಅಗುಂಬೆಗೆ ಭೇಟಿ ನೀಡಿ, ಕೋಬ್ರಾ ಹಾವುಗಳ ಅಧ್ಯಯನ ಮಾಡುವ ತಜ್ಞರನ್ನು ಭೇಟಿ ಮಾಡಿದಾಗ ಪ್ರಕೃತಿಯ ನಿಗೂಢ ಸೌಂದರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಇನ್ನಷ್ಟು ಆಳವಾಗಿ ಅರಿತುಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಆಸಕ್ತಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿತು.

ಅನೇಕ ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಕಾಲ, ನಾನು Nikon D750 ಕ್ಯಾಮೆರಾ ಜೊತೆಗೆ 105mm ಮ್ಯಾಕ್ರೋ ಲೆನ್ಸ್ ಮತ್ತು ಡಿಫ್ಯೂಸರ್ ಬಳಸುತ್ತಾ, ಅನೇಕ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರ ಅಧಿವೇಶನಗಳ ಮೂಲಕ ಪ್ರಯೋಗ ಮತ್ತು ಕಲಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಮುಂದುವರಿಸಿದ್ದೆ. ಇತ್ತೀಚೆಗೆ, ನಾನು Nikon Z7 ಮಿರರ್‌ಲೆಸ್ ಕ್ಯಾಮೆರಾಕ್ಕೆ ಬದಲಾಗಿದೆ, ಇದು ಹೊಸ ಸೃಜನಾತ್ಮಕ ಸಾಧ್ಯತೆಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಅದ್ಭುತ ಫಲಿತಾಂಶಗಳನ್ನು ತೆರೆದಿದೆ.

ಹಾಸನ ಸಮೀಪದ ಐತಿಹಾಸಿಕ ಪಟ್ಟಣವಾದ ಶ್ರವಣಬೆಳಗೊಳದಲ್ಲಿ ಜನಿಸಿ ಬೆಳೆದ ನಾನು, ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸಿಸುತ್ತಾ ದೃಶ್ಯಕಲಾ ಉಪನ್ಯಾಸಕರಾಗಿ ಕಾರ್ಯನಿರ್ವಹಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದೇನೆ. ಮ್ಯಾಕ್ರೋ ಫೋಟೋಗ್ರಫಿ ನನ್ನ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಪ್ರಿಯ ಹವ್ಯಾಸವಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಖಾಲಿ ಸಮಯ ಸಿಕ್ಕಾಗ ನನ್ನ ಮನೆಯಿಂದ ಸುತ್ತಮುತ್ತಲಿನ ಪ್ರಕೃತಿಯ ಅಡಗಿರುವ ಸೌಂದರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಅನ್ವೇಷಿಸಿ, ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಂದು ಶಾಟ್‌ನಲ್ಲೂ ಹೊಸ ಕಲಿಕೆಯ ಅನುಭವವನ್ನು ಆನಂದಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದೇನೆ.

Biography – My Journey in Macro Photography

My journey in photography began in the early 1990s, during the era of reel cameras. Back then, I explored the world through simple point-and-shoot cameras, capturing landscapes, portraits, and family functions. By 1991, photography had already become a passion, and in 1997–98, I took my first steps into the world of SLR cameras, using them to document my paintings and creative work.

Gradually, my interest expanded into wildlife photography, and soon after, I ventured into the fascinating world of macro photography with my friend Guru Raju. Around the year 2000, we began experimenting with macro shots, and over the years, it evolved into a serious pursuit. In 2017, a turning point came when I attended an intensive three-day macro photography workshop in the dense forests of Sirsi, nestled in the Western Ghats. This experience, guided by renowned photographer Uday Hegde, deepened my understanding of nature and wildlife. During this time, I also visited Agumbe and connected with experts working with cobras, which further fueled my passion for close-up nature studies.

For years, I used the Nikon D750 paired with a 105mm macro lens and a diffuser, experimenting and learning through countless field sessions. Recently, I transitioned to the Nikon Z7 mirrorless camera, which has opened up new creative possibilities and stunning results.

Born and brought up in the historical town of Shravanabelagola near Hassan, Karnataka, I am now based in Bangalore, working as a Visual Arts Facilitator. Macro photography remains my favorite pursuit, and I often spend my free time exploring the hidden beauty of nature in and around my home, constantly learning and discovering new wonders through my lens.
