- Let your child draw their favorite pet animal and ask how you can take care of your pet animal.

- If you don’t have pet animals at home, you can have “pretend pets” and let your child take care of them. Having pretend pets is a great starting point when learning how to care for animals.  They can be great for preparing kids for real pets, and they can also help children practice taking more responsibility in caring for a family pet.
