About Us
About Us
We are Irving ISD alumni attending high-graduation rate colleges across the country.
We come from first-generation, low income backgrounds (FGLI).
We possess a variety of interests, ambitions, and skills.
We are passionate about helping students attend their best fitting university!
During high school, we were supported by our teachers and administrators during the college application process, but felt like we needed additional support and guidance from college students — especially once we began attending our respective institutions. Through interactive lectures, meaningful activities, and personal narratives, students receive direct mentorship from current college students and recent college graduates about how to navigate higher education from the application process through college graduation! We are especially passionate about helping first-generation, low income students attend high-graduation rate universities.
Our program takes place over a two day period during the summer, Saturday through Sunday, from 9 a.m. to the 4 p.m. CST.
The Summer 2023 program will take place July 22nd to July 23rd.
For accessibility and scheduling purposes, this program occurs via Zoom. Additionally, this platform works best for us considering our mentors are located in different cities across the United States.
For questions about our program, our application, or if you are interested in becoming involved as a mentor, contact us via email, Twitter, or Instagram.
