Call for Submissions

for authors

The 1st Midwest Workshop of Women in Experimental Biology (MWWEB 2022) will take place on August 12th, 2022. We invite submissions for Long Talks (10 min), Short Talks (3 min), and Posters proposing or addressing problems of interest to experimental biologists by means of mathematical, computational, machine learning, and data science methods. We welcome interdisciplinary and collaborative work, where co-authors include experimental biologists, mathematicians, statisticians, data scientists, and computer scientists. Submissions which use novel mathematical and computational methods to solve questions of interest to biology are encouraged. Perspective projects and projects which propose new questions of interest to biology that would require or benefit from mathematical and computational tools are very welcome.

Four of the submitted Long Talks will be selected as Contributed Talks and authors of selected talks will have the opportunity to present live during the workshop. All submissions will be available on Gather "MWWEB" Town to foster comprehensive discussions among the participants.

All speakers or contributors must complete the registration form, available HERE. Submission of your presentation will occur via a separate form and can take place in another moment before the submission deadline.

If you are submitting a Long Talk, a Short Talk, and/or a Poster, please submit your presentation HERE no later than August 5th, 2022. Videos of Long Talks and Short Talks and PDFs of Posters will be uploaded to Gather "MWWEB" Town and will be available for the entire duration of the workshop.

If problems with the submission arise, please contact one of the organizers: Prof. Alessandro Maria Selvitella (aselvite@pfw.edu) or Prof. Kathleen Lois Foster (klfoster@bsu.edu).
