Aquatic Physiotherapy

Aquatic Physiotherapy

Aquatic Physiotherapy takes Physiotherapy to a different environment…warm water!
Water has buoyancy and counteracts gravity, taking a load off the body.
Pool therapy is beneficial for anyone with muscle weakness, loss of joint mobility, poor co-ordination or balance, pain or lack of confidence.
The medium enables mobility for those who are immobile on land.
Aquatic Physiotherapy uses the unique properties of water to help with the rehabilitation and management of your condition.
The buoyancy provides support and relieves weight-bearing pressure on joints, making it easier to move;
The resistance of the water helps with strengthening, balance and improving fitness levels;
Water pressure helps reduce swelling and oedema;
The warmth of the water reduces pain and relaxes muscle spasm.
Water provides a sense of well-being and improves mental activity
