Mandy Wilkinson Physiotherapy welcomed Alex to the team in February 2025.
Alex is a physiotherapist with a special interest in musculoskeletal injuries, adolescent rehabilitation, orthopaedic conditions, and women’s health. She graduated summa cum laude from UWC in 2020 and began her career at a rural hospital in KwaZulu-Natal, gaining broad experience across acute injuries, chronic disease, and post-operative care.She later worked in a private Cape Town hospital’s Cardiac ICU, strengthening her clinical reasoning and holistic approach to care. Alex then spent three years in London, expanding her expertise in sports injuries, chronic pain, and post-operative rehabilitation with a diverse range of patients.She enjoys helping patients return to movement and sport, and commonly treats running-related injuries, tendon and joint pain, and post-surgical orthopaedic cases. With additional training in women’s health and experience alongside men’s and women’s health physiotherapists, she also supports pelvic health concerns including post-partum recovery, pelvic floor dysfunction, and return to exercise.Alex has additional training in acupuncture, dry needling, and reformer-based Pilates, which she uses where appropriate. Her approach combines hands-on treatment with exercise-based rehabilitation, education, and a focus on long-term recovery—helping patients understand and confidently manage their bodies.Living with Type 1 Diabetes, Alex brings a personal understanding of balancing health, activity, and lifestyle. She is known for her warm, approachable manner and builds strong relationships with patients, so they feel supported and confident throughout their rehabilitation.
