The roots of my career as a musician date all the way back to the summer of 2014, when I developed an interest in the electric guitar. Upon plucking the strings for the first time, I felt captivated and welcomed. I instantly fell in love with the guitar. I began with studying the basic guitar techniques through my own research and learning songs like "Paint it Black" by the Rolling Stones, through a guitar-oriented video game titled "Rocksmith".
I, originally, was infatuated with old-school rock and metal music. Bands like AC/DC and Iron Maiden left me astounded with what I now understand as 'melodic structure' and would be the main source of my musical inspirations from then on. However, little did I understand that there would be something to love and appreciate about every genre of music. The first person to introduce me to such was Mr. Ruben Macias (Maryvale Guitar Teacher), who formerly led a band that traveled worldwide for approximately 20 years, and developed a contemporary music class to teach students, like myself, what makes each genre of music so unique and spectacular.
Becoming a musician quickly threw me into the music community, which surrounded me with a whole universe of creative artists. Along the way, I've had a workshop on soloist pieces with world-renowned classical guitarist Dr. Frank Koonce, an ensemble workshop with Vida Guitar Quartet, Mr. Charles Hulihan and Connor Wilson of GCC, Joshua Mayo of ASU, and an interview with Grammy award winner Carlos Rafael Rivera.
