Independent Educational Evaluation (IEE)
This is the Mission Valley SELPA policy regarding Independent Educational Evaluations (IEE). When you, as a parent or legal caregiver, seek to pursue an IEE, and you want the district to fund it, you must notify the district. The district then must consider your request or pursue legal action to defend the district’s assessments. If you are interested in obtaining an IEE at public expense please read the policies as outlined below and complete the google form within this document. The Special Education Director for your district will then contact you with the district’s response to your request.
Please know that the district wants to work with you to provide an appropriate set of services based on the assessed needs of your child. You always have the right to contact your program specialists or director to discuss your needs confidentially and collaboratively.
