Call for presentations

The MVG's 40th (MVG40) Anniversary is organized by the Center for Machine Vision and Signal Analysis research unit and will take place as a 2 half-day event in Rokua, near Oulu. The dates of the seminar are October 7-8, 2021. The purpose of this event is to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of CMVS’ precursor Machine Vision Group, with discussion along some of its futuristic ideas for the next years.

The main topic of this seminar is:

"The next 40 years of computer vision, signal analysis and AI"

As the sayings says, “the world belongs to the energetic, then making the impossible happens”. The event welcomes bold presentations and forward-thinking ideas from all the CMVS researchers, especially younger generation. The presentations are free-form, and can range from 10 to 30 minutes (suggested time: 12min + 3 min discussion).

The themes for the presentation can be broadly categorized (but not not exactly confined) to the following topics:

  • Research ideas for the future

(bold new research openings and approaches)

  • Future scenarios and/or their social impact

(Applications of computer vision, AI, signal analysis, data sharing)

  • Domain-specific futures

(Future education, health, transportation, totally 'novel' domains)

  • Future devices and networks of devices

(Ultradensification, human-machine interaction, HW & SW)

All people from CMVS is welcomed to submit a presentation !!!
