April 17th: New Call Center Established for COVID-19 Testing in the Coastal Health District
"The Coastal Health District has established a new call center at 1-912-230-9744 to screen individuals for COVID-19 testing." ... "The following people can request testing through the COVID-19 Call Center:
Anyone with symptoms of COVID-19, which include fever, cough, and shortness of breath.
These individuals without symptoms – healthcare workers, emergency responders, critical infrastructure workers, and people living or working in group settings like long-term care facilities."
April 16th: Homeless Authority partnering with Goodwill, seeking volunteers to help homeless
"In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the homeless authority has an immediate need for masks, non-medical personal protection equipment, paper towels, toilet paper, soap, and other personal items. Volunteers are needed to provide a variety of supporting services to vulnerable homeless individuals. Goodwill Southeast Georgia is partnering to collect these critically needed items, which are being accepted at the Sallie Mood, Eisenhower Drive, McAlpin Square, Wilmington Island, and Pooler store donation doors from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily."
