Ngiyampaa man born on Wiradjuri country in Dubbo, NSW. Grew up in small town Narromine but moved around a heck of a lot. Loved reading books on those long trips from Pippagitta into school and back. Constantly and relentlessly challenged about being First Nations (Aboriginal) Australian, so now I identify as a First Nations White Australian (couldn't make an acronym for that...FNWA?). Always Was, Always Will be, Aboriginal Land.
Did a lot of education because it's just so fun learning. Bachelor of Science (Biochem/Micro), Honours (Nutrition), Master of Public Health, Doctor of Philosophy in Public Health (Aboriginal Health). Still writing and publishing, hey, it's my hobby. Currently full-on researching for my camel trekking adventure, which includes bush tucker. On the farms I ate a lot of Roo, Yabbies, Catfish, and Rabbits: yummmm I hear your stomach grumbling. Plenty of more bush grub to come when I do more bushwalking and then the camel trekking. Big question: should I get a cattle dog for the camel trekking?
I hope you get in touch (drmjlocky@gmail.com) about any of the topics I post on. Cheers, Marky
